Crypt of the Abbey of Saint-Volusian, Foix

In the crypt of Saint-Volusian Abbey, in Foix, one intervenes on a site that has something special.

The Abbey has been listed as a historic monument since 1964. Its Romanesque crypt houses carved rooms from the Middle Ages and a wooden bust representing Saint Volusien, the seventh bishop of Tours and patron saint of the city. Our mission for this first phase is to design and tailor all the supports and bases necessary for their placement in a place full of history and subject to strict conservation requirements.

It's just the beginning. We will soon come back to secure the entire crypt, to base two statues currently being restored, and to design lighting adapted to space and works.

This type of construction requires real rigour: each piece is unique, every sowing is thought of according to the weight, fragility and reading of the object. We work closely with the departmental conservation department of Ariège and the Architects of the Buildings of France.
